To establish Science and Technology Centres in Tamilnadu

To design, develop and fabricate Science and Technology exhibits, prototype demonstration equipments and scientific teaching aids for furtherance of Science Education

To portray the growth of Science and Technology and their applications to improve the human environment and living.

To supplement the Formal Science Education given in the Schools and Colleges.

To render assistance to universities, technical institutions, schools and colleges in planning science centres and in training personnel for museum profession.

To train teachers in the art and craft of improving teaching aids for science instruction with a view to improving the quality of Science Education in the State.

To collect, restore and preserve important historical objects which represent landmarks in the development of Science and Technology.
