NEW
FACILITIES AT PERIYAR SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY CENTRE,CHENNAI |

To keep abreast with the latest developments, a Gallery on
“Information Technology” incorporating exhibits
on the broad themes viz. (i) Education, Enterprises and Entertaining
(ii) Applications of Information Technology in our day-to-day life
and (iii) Entertainment through Games, Morphing etc. has been
proposed to be developed at an ultimate cost of Rs.30.00 lakhs
with infrastructural facilities.
Periyar Science and Technology Centre has set up a Students
Interactive Computer Corner (Cyber School) with ample facilities
and computers, latest Pentium based Multimedia Systems as
compatible to the VSAT connectivity, extending a platform
for the students to browse the Internet and obtain the latest
information on the field of interest.Utilising the
facilities,it is being planned to conduct periodically
Computer Software Training Courses,in collaboration with the
Directorate of Technical Education-Govt. of Tamilnadu, for the
benefit of the students and the general public. |

| The
setting up of new gallery “Urban Development” incorporating
the state-of-the-art exhibits has taken a shape and actions have
been taken to fabricate exhibits on the following areas: Housing,
Transport, Management & Communication, Sanitation, Water
Management, Sewerage Disposal, Pollution Control and Future
Chennai, at an estimated cost of Rs.40.00 lakhs. |
